In addition, MIST Therapy System is a painless noncontact ultrasound device that heals wounds without the traditional ultrasound requirement of direct contact with the skin.
MIST Therapy creates ultrasound waves that produce and propel a gentle mist of sterile saline to the wound bed. This resulting mist of saline improves the transfer of ultrasound from the device to the wound bed without contact or pain to the patient.
The noncontact MIST Therapy is unique because the mist replaces the coupling gel that is required for all other forms of ultrasound such as fetal monitoring, sports medicine, and physical therapy.
