Is MIST Therapy® Safe?

Does a MIST Therapy treatment hurt?
No. MIST Therapy is a noncontact ultrasound therapy. The ultrasound in MIST Therapy is safely delivered through a saline mist that does not require contact with the wound and therefore is painless. Some patients may even experience a decrease in their wound pain over time* (14, 24,25,27).
How long does the treatment take to perform?
The treatment time is determined by the size of of the wound. In most cases, a MIST Therapy Treatment will last 5-7 minutes.
How often are MIST Therapy treatments required?
MIST Therapy treatments are recommended 3 times a week, but some inpatient centers have opted to perform daily treatments to further speed the healing process. How many times a week will be determined by the medical staff in charge of your wound care.
Can MIST Therapy be used with other wound care treatments?
Yes. MIST Therapy is used in conjunction with other wound care treatment to accelerate healing.
What type of wounds can MIST Therapy be used to treat?
